With 5 manufacturing facilities in Germany, Prysmian is well positioned to supply its domestic and export customers with power and telecom cables and accessories. Prysmian is the market leader and "innovation driver" in all major business areas for energy and telecommunications.

Prysmian Germany has its headquarters in Berlin under the company name Prysmian Kabel und Systeme GmbH. It is one of the largest manufacturers of cables and wires for power transmission in Germany. The business comprises three divisions: Cables for Energy Suppliers (Utilities), Special Cables for Industry (Special Cables) and Cables and Wires for Installation (General Market).

The production at the plants in Schwerin, Neustadt/Coburg, Wuppertal, Nordenham, and Nuremberg ranges from low, medium and high voltage cables for a wide variety of applications. Prysmian is the market leader in special cables for mining and for hoisting and conveying equipment as well as in halogen-free cables with improved behaviour in case of fire. In a very competitive and demanding market, Prysmian is able to meet the ever-changing needs of its customers thanks to excellent research and development, manufacturing and logistics.

The globally oriented and certified quality management ensures consistently high product quality from the procurement to the production to the delivery process. With its focus on sustainable & environmentally oriented manufacturing processes, Prysmian ensures that the basic idea of sustainably oriented energy concepts is also implemented in its own company.

Management systems

The integrated management system of Prysmian Germany for occupational health and safety, quality, environmental and energy management policy, is supplemented by documented procedures and regulations and fulfils the requirements for quality management according to the standard DIN EN ISO 9001, the guideline for rail vehicle construction IRIS and ISO/TS 16949 (automotive). The quality management system is based on the safety regulations of KTA 1401, environmental management according to DIN EN ISO 14001, energy management according to DIN EN ISO 50001 and occupational health and safety management according to OHSAS 18001.

All parts of the management system are regularly assessed, monitored and certified by approved certification companies.

This management system applies to all locations of Prysmian Germany and has directive character for all employees. It also serves as information for our customers and is used by them as a basis for assessing the management system.
